Tanya have you ever squeezed some fresh lemon on your steamed spinach? It can make the spinach turn a little brown but it tastes really bright and different. I love spinach and I usually wilt it in a pan with a little olive oil and a garlic clove. Throw in some red pepper flakes and yummy! Ofcapri, real Parmesan has no equal. One of the best spices to use in spinach is Nutmeg. I speak da troof. All this is making me hungry for spinach! It's going on my grocery list for tomorrow. As a child in W.Va Mom poured it out of the can and added some butter. I liked it. :~) WoW!! Never thought about trying it *fresh* until I saw recipes for it in soups and recently in pasta shells. Gee....who would have thought we could get so excited about spinach?? |
