However you buy spinach, it’s one of the most nutritious vegetables you can eat and considerably more delicate than other leafy greens. Because of this, it’s easy to overcook, which makes it drab and unappealing. Spinach is filled with flavonoids, which may have antioxidant properties, and its plentiful vitamin K (1,000 percent of the daily recommended value in 1 cup of cooked spinach) contributes to bone health. The list of nutrients that come in large quantities in a serving of spinach is a long one, including iron, vitamins A and C, manganese, folate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, vitamins B2 and B6, tryptophan and dietary fiber. All this, with no prep time and 10 to 20 seconds of cooking, is hard to beat.

I like steamed spinach with a drizzle of butter and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. Yummy.

Tanya have you ever squeezed some fresh lemon on your steamed spinach? It can make the spinach turn a little brown but it tastes really bright and different.

I love spinach and I usually wilt it in a pan with a little olive oil and a garlic clove. Throw in some red pepper flakes and yummy!

Ofcapri, real Parmesan has no equal. Yum.

All of the above. Fantastic. One of the best spices to use in spinach is Nutmeg. I speak da troof.

As a child in W.Va Mom poured it out of the can and added some butter. I liked it. :~) WoW!! Never thought about trying it *fresh* until I saw recipes for it in soups and recently in pasta shells. Gee....who would have thought we could get so excited about spinach??
