Why do some feel the need to put their personal choice on display? Who cares?

I find the whole date-your-dad-and-get-a-ring bit more than just a tad creepy.

Yes, it's just an extension of the idea of women-as-property that should be long gone. That a girl's virginity is objectified and valued as a thing for daddy to guard, then pass on to her husband is sick. Virginity is merely a state, and applies to boys too.

That is like saying that a wedding ring stops people from cheating.
