zasel says: Leave it to the kids to have the guts to confront the torturer in chief and hold him to the fire. Of course, the president simply scanned the note with his eyes, smiled at the student and offered assurance that America does not engage in torture. My guess is the kid knew it was bullshit, or the letter would not have been written in the first place. Now, if only our professional media had the same chutzpah as this kid and could stand up to Bush and demand answers and accountability. It's unsurprising to me that young people have a better grasp of right and wrong - good and evil, if you like - than our president and his "running dog lackeys." Pardon the excerpt from Red Chinese rhetoric, but this may be the only time in my living memory where such a phrase is both descriptive and accurate. This Administration is dependant upon lackeys, lick-spittles and otherwise corrupt, stupid personality cultists. Expect choruses of dissent from people charactorizing me - or the kids - as undisciplined, disrepectful, hippies, commies, liberals, closing with "why do you hate America?" I don't hate America. But I'll admit, there are quite a few Americans that test my tolerance.... Hope springs eternal.... In politics if something is untrue it is denied. If it is true it is denied absolutely. They are having more and more trouble hiding the crimes, and screwing with definitions until they become meaningless. |
