Battisti and Naylor, however, assumed <A href="http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=from-bad-to-worse-with-greenhouse-gas-emissions">greenhouse gas emissions</A> lower than the present output and the fact that more carbon dioxide (CO<SUB>2</SUB>), the most common greenhouse gas, will boost plant growth may not help.
