Duh. Point is it could be evidence that certain companies/govt agencies are manipulating the info we have access too. Not surprising, and that's what you get with Wiki anyway, but still something to consider.

The real point is that IF someone tried to obscure/hide information they cannot hide it from every link. The Wayback Machine is real handy in that regard as it shows you what the pages/info looked like back THEN, as in before someone tried to edit them. The data may still be there, have a look around.

Very good.

Wonder if the Wayback machine can be hacked and changed? Not a geek myself so just a thought.

Folk don't actually believe Wiki is some pure font of knowledge, do they? You can post as many examples of "evil corporations" editing the site, but the fact is a large part of all contributers -- individuals, corporations, media outlets, special interest groups, etc. -- do so in the hopes of furthering a particular agenda.

Some examples from the other side of the aisle:

It's too bad, really; lots of great info on Wiki, but have to keep a grain of salt nearby as well as other sources, depending on the subject...thanks for all this great info, about Fox, Franken, Bush, etc. Must stay alert.

I might add though that the voting machine thing is really a scary subject. Talk about hacking.

Wikki is great for a lot of facts, and records, but there are some subjects I might use it as a starting point to get something into context, or compare it to what I already knew or believed. Some subjects like business and politics have correct dates, and some details, but the writers will often intend to put their subject in a 'good light.'
The net can make it easy to find supporting, or contrary arguments so they can be compared. People believe wikki, and there is a lot of money in what people believe.
It's good to find sites that can verify information. The internet is not the place to take anything at face value.
If something is deleted, any of the vast number of net users could have i...

or a bad light.
If you were prone to that bias already,(either way) you will feel confirmed in that bias, even to think it is fact. You may well, then, have been deluded by yourself and Wikipedia.
