Perhaps it would help here at cm if people with strong political feelings would refrain from being abusive towards people who have an opinion different from their own. Everyone has a right to their opinion and should be able to express it. There is a lot of political polarization here and it works a hardship on our sense of community.

Not only does it damage the feeling of community among regular users, it also prevents new users from getting involved, from feeling welcomed and providing diversity of thought.

I think CM is one of the nicer places on the internet, but why not be better and more productive?
