Hasta ahora objetos tan pequeños (del mismo tamaño de un virus) no se podían agarrar. Para conseguir el mismo resultado con los medios hasta ahora disponibles, hubiera sido necesario aplicar una fuerza 10 veces mayor que destrozaría objetos tan pequeños.
