Does that link go to a story about McCain and the way he divorced his first wife, or to his being labelled the antichrist by some bible reading mob.

My marriage ended because John McCain didn’t want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens...it just does. - Carol McCain

It's basically about what people do in their private lives Tabsey and how that does not affect their abilities to govern or their policies, so let me speak to that regarding McCain. Anyone expecting any change would be better served hanging around the street with a paper cup.

He didnt just leave her for no reason. She was injured in an accident that disfigured her. clipped from story

"his wife had been disfigured in a terrible car crash three years earlier. Her car had skidded on icy roads into a telegraph pole on Christmas Eve, 1969. Her pelvis and one arm were shattered by the impact and she suffered massive internal injuries."

Read the rest here.

You know, that is the second time I've noticed that the comment has been removed by moderator on my clips and I didn't remove it. I wonder what is going on? A spam filter?

Others can remove comments from anyone's clip. It is a way coping with the deluge of spam. Don't know how long it will last.

I am sick of the MM being judge and jury of anything coming from main stream media.Take the guy accused of sending the Anthrax letters in 2001. He never got a trial but how many people take it for granted that he is guilty? Why , because he committed suicide? DID he commit suicide? Who benefits from his death?

No. What Edwards did was clearly wrong. But let us bring some context to it. If his wife had taken a 2x4 to his head I would not be surprised, that was dirty and low as you get, but my question is, is it any of our business when the man is now a private citizen? Or is this simple rumor mongering and sexual gossip? Or for that matter a criminal matter?

Is it Vitter with the Prostitute?

A failed gay tryst in the airport bathroom?

An evangelical pastor doing meth while getting a message with the a gay happy ending?

Disgusting and disappointing, yes. The end of the f-ing world, hardly.

I think the point is that we have to look at the policies and ability to govern vs. the private life. John McCain gets a thrill out of screwing America which concerns me waaaaaaay more than fucking hot chicki's. On the other hand, I hate a hypocrite. Don't give me a Sunday morning sermon all the while keeping your lustful desires a big hot ummmmm, well, little T&A at the biker ralley . . .

It is strange, however reprehensible Edwards' behavior, that a great number of Americans think it worse than the betrayal by the President of 4,000 Americans who followed his orders to their deaths and the murder of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.
Somehow we are numbed to the murders that governments do. Too far away, too propagandized, I guess.

You are SO right. But most Americans fear being called a traitor if they are caught having sympathy for the assumed enemy. We let the government pick our enemies, we have no guilt because we are not connected to the fight in any real way. If Bush could run again, many would not vote for him mainly because of the economy. The fact that he is a mass murderer is of no consequence.
On the whole, Americans basically hate foreigners.

I think it was Jimmy Carter who said something like, "Recognizing the validity of your opponent's position is the beginning of diplomacy." How ironic it is that following such a course requires more political courage than going to war - for exactly the reason you mention - "most Americans fear being called a traitor if they are caught having sympathy for the assumed enemy."

What's really disturbing is the number of people who publicly condemn people in Edwards' situation, only to get caught out themselves.

I wonder why that is. Any guesses?
