I have found that 0 stimulus dollars so far have gotten past the state level and out to our rural county. Just wanted to share the truth about how the stimulus is not getting out past the state level to those of us in rural areas, at least here in Georgia. You have the best info and posts I have found on the internet and I hope you don't mind when I RT them to my Twitter feed and other online places like FB and my emails to other like minded folks. I will not sit by and see the stimulus wasted. My preference is that it be stopped and all money not spent be returned to pay off the national debt but that is just not going to happen. I won't sit by and see the 8.5 billion that is earmarked for ACORN go to them without a fight to stop it. I would much rather see it go to help the citizens who need it, small business...

It is amazing to go to those in charge of this stimulus and see how little they know about it. Sometimes we know much more than those who will be distributing these funds. I have never been into politics before 2008 and I have learned a lot and am still learning as I go. I am a wife, mother and small business owner. I asked the county manager if it was OK for me as a citizen and small business owner to request this meeting with him to discuss the distribution of stimulus funds. He seemed to appreciate my interest and has promised to work with the reporters from 11 Alive should they contact him after my email to them today to let them know what I found out, that there is NO stimulus money trickling down to small rural counties like ours in Georgia. I will keep you posted here as to what I hear.
