ratilfar says: And the film didn't present Reid's bottom line for health care reform – don't let health insurance companies profit from selling basic health insurance. They can sell for-profit insurance for extras – breast enlargements, botox, hair transplants. But not for the basic health needs of the American people. Instead, the film that aired Monday pushed the view that Americans be required to purchase health insurance from for-profit companies. discovery networks too. why is it now that both non-biased programming and scientific discovery are both being sold to the highest bid? That I don't know. But we all lose when that happens. Greed, solo3, greed. "don't let health insurance companies profit from selling basic health insurance." Then exactly what reason would they have for being in business? You take away a company's reason for existing and they will just close their doors and we will all be standing in line for 10 hrs at crappy clinics. B.S. First this is our health we are talking about. Why should people make money out of that. Second, with regular health insurance you still spend hours at the doctor (both my parents do, an average of 5-6 hours per visit), overly expensive medicines and are subject to the whims of the insurance company profit seeking bureaucracies (with all the costumer dodging red tape). So I don't buy that over priced private health insurance is better only because it is private. Besides the point of the article is that the reporting was skewed away from the facts presented to justify private operator's priorities. |
