Congrats to the intrepid explorers! Now hopefully it doesn't turn out the thing is on a collision course with earth and all the world's finest minds have to hide out in bunkers!

As Fraser and Pamela commented on their Astronomy Cast episode about amateur astronomy, “Astronomy is one of the few sciences where amateurs make can meaningful contributions and discoveries.”
These students were being very generous to the science community. Astronomy is one of the few sciences where amateurs are allowed to help and not denigrated, treated poorly, as they are if amateurs have ideas about science.

One of the big problems that science has today, and why no one knows or cares much about science...except for Astronomy.... woohoo! Good job, students!
