I caught this interview on "Real Time With Bill Maher" and I hung on every intellectual word that came from the brilliant mind of Garry Kasparov chess champion, who is running against Putin in Russia. It was enlightening but also a bit depressing, because there aren't many leaders that could reach the genius of this man. Especially, here in the USA, where, as Chris Mathews (a guest on "Real Time") said after the interview "that was so sophisticated, and this audience was listening to every word. Our guys here talk down to us!"
I started thinking about that statement by Mathews ... Why do they talk down to us? The answer is clear, because so many in the voting block seem to want and NEED their leaders to talk down to them. They, like small children, want the protection of a BIG DADDY who will tell them "Don't you worry, I'm here to protect you." and so they go on talking down, just to appease in order to get votes. Depressing is too light a word for how this makes me feel.
