merrie says: The poll shows Clinton beating Republican candidate John McCain, 50 percent to 41 percent, in a potential matchup, while Obama would be tied with McCain, leading 46 percent to 44 percent. Among the white voters polled, Clinton received 43 percent to McCain's 48 percent, while Obama landed only 38 percent to McCain's 51 percent. David Axelrod, Obama's chief strategist, appeared clearly worried about Wright's affect on his candidate's campaign. "We don't have any control over Reverend Wright," Axelrod told The Times of London. "There's not a thing we can do about it. "Obviously, I don't think we would have encouraged him to go on a media tour." His preaching seems in line with a "Prophetic Tradition" , in that shaking up the complacent is considered a necessary part of his job, etc. But these abhorrent claims about 911, and that AIDS was created intentionally to kill blacks , are just nothing short of horrific. This man is scary as hell! It's easy to dismiss claims as paranoid but if past behavior is predictive of current behavior the citizens of the usa have no reason to trust the government. But these abhorrent claims about 911 What abhorrent claims? Wright did not say anything that wasn't true, now did he. As for AIDS, he did make an error, but the truth behind that urban legend is just as bleak if not horrifying. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0762136.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuskegee_Study_of_Untreated_Syphilis_in_the_Negro_Male http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/2002/jul/tuskegee/ |
