Now this has to be a fascinating job to have. I think every company should have a futurist-in-residence. It's the best way to ensure you get a jump start on your competitors.

Great job if you are tasked to predict short-term. However long-term futurists usually end up with egg on their collective faces .... BIG TIME.

Looking back to post WW2 until almost the present day futurists batting average is dismally low. In fact very very embarrassing.
