missmartini says: This morning I listened to a wonderful story about Julius Schulman, who takes the most amazing architectural photographs. As an art history major and someone who delved a bit into American Studies at UCSC, I was introduced to the work of Julius Schulman. It is great to hear that you can still commission him to do work and that he is still taking images (he doesn't like the word "shoot") and is right here in LA. The photographs are amazing and the story is worth listening. They interviewed a woman who commissioned Schulman to photograph her home in Hancock Park and she said "He makes you see what you take for granted. And we do that in our houses. We do that in our marriages. We do that with our children," says Spiegel. "He has ability to stop time and let you see it and to remember why you fell in love with it." Wonderful piece of NPR news this morning. Enjoy! |
