He is really out of control. A couple of things they were chatting about on the BBC World Service this morning...

A. Ahmedinejad wanting to shore up support amongst Iran's hardliners
B. Many hardliners feel that the more reckless they portray themselves, they more leverage they have when it comes to diplomacy
C. Ahmedinejad wants to position Iran as the leader of the Arab/Muslim world

This guy is such a greater threat to the world (and the U.S.) than Saddam ever was or would be. It seems that one horrible consequence of our disaster in Iraq is that we don't have the means or the clout to do anything meaningful about this.

I think Ahmedinejad would NOT be Iran's president if we hadn't invaded Iraq.

yes i think your right he is playing this way to leverage himself in talks because he know that pressure will be coming soon. very clever. That being said, you cant be clever once your dead. The israelis have some good assasins who could take him out if the word is given. but then he would be a martyr. better to just take pictures of him having sex.
