There are several dozen species of small cats that exist in small areas around the world and are not well known. One I can think of offhand is the Iriomote wildcat, which is only found on Iriomote, an island near Okinawa.

There's a picture at Wiki which clearly identifies this as an Ocelot. No, it's not photo shopped.
