To call the Labour Party, or the wider Labour movement, socialist these days is a sick joke. Blair and his cronies in the "New Labour" movement have virtually disenfranchised people on the left by dragging a party with a proud democratic socialist history toward the centre with such determination that it now resembles a typical European Christian Democratic Party more than anything else.

I now tend to vote for minority parties (Greens, Socialist Alliance) even though in our electoral system there is no chance of it having any more significance than not voting at all.
