Another trick for removing a wet red wine stain, is to pour some white wine on it or some club soda. It takes the colour right out and then just wash, as you ususally would. I once spilled a whole glass of red wine on a white plush carpet....ouch....but a glass of white on it and poof the stain was gone like magic.
