Socratoad says: I'm clipping this as I believe it is a thought piece to go along with the heated discussions taking place on the "This should be on every bible". clip. I especially like the Judaism version of the "Golden Rule" Ya see folks, its about some wise people in different parts of this disparate world long ago trying to formulate how societies could work together without tearing tearing each other to shreds. In other words its about EMPATHY. All the rest is merely rhetoric. you make me smile Mr.Socratoad. this deserves many pops.. Aye, I like your sentiments. Not sure about the clip's content, though! Ya see folks, its about some wise people in different parts of this disparate world long ago trying to formulate how societies could work together without tearing tearing each other to shreds.key word here: could if only we did work together in peace.... we live in a wolrd , that at this moment, is going into some Odd times,, i wont go on into gret detail about what i think, or do , but what i can do in this moment in time is help you all clean your minds , and your body's, give this video a chance, give peace a chance, & please , give the world a chance to live again http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9061550232536519022&q=DNA+-+Pirates+of+the+Sacred+Spiral+-+Dr+Horowitz&hl=en We live in odd times? Do we really know what it takes to live? when can we get togther to solve this simple problem. A wise man once told me, "You can explain to me haw it rains, but i still do not understand it". i replied, well thats the same I think about an engine. He said, "hell thats easy!". Can you tell he was a mechanic? How can we be so smart yet so stupid? Does it take money to live? Peace, love and understanding doood...now pass me the join..... errr coffee. @mindshift. I think I know what you're talking about and you're nick is clue...right? WInk, wink. BEAUTIFUL! This poster reminds me of a page I stumbled across in a 1940's magazine. On that page was the "Golden Rule in the 10 greatest religions." It was beautiful to see the comparitive message, which in essence said the very same thing. The one error on the page was that it called Islam "Mohammadanism" which is incorrect because Muslims are Montheist and do not worship any prophet. This list appears to be a little more comprehensive. I shall have to make the image larger so I can read it all. Ultimately any true believer will wish for others that which he wishes for himself, neither would such a person want to harm or injure anyone, or to be harmed by others... Sounds so simple. If ... Perwana and all others reading this ---- if I clip and clip and clip until the end of my days I will never clip a more important message than this one. The message is so simple, yet profound, and yet as I type this I can almost hear someone somewhere saying, "yes but" ----- and that sad reality is precisely why there are people at other peoples throats the world over. We really must, each one of us, try harder. An added bonus is that when one tries harder one finds it much easier to look at one's own face in the mirror (self-esteem). At least thats the way it works for me. Odd how that works I am well aware that I have a very biting tongue at times, and yet even as I put down someone (very skillfully) ----- the worse I feel. The message is so simple, yet profound, and yet as I type this I canWell stated. Whenever I have found myself feeling I have failed in life somehow, as I look back I realize I didn't follow the Golden Rule while on the failing path. Did anyone actually watch the vid linked above by Mindshift? It just demonstrates that there is no correlation between intelligence and sanity, and that no matter how absurd the theories of an intellectual, if they are cleverly presented, there will be an audience of beard stroking head nodding gullible adherents that will gather 'round. Watch it, and among other revelations, you will learn that Ian Fleming and Charlie Manson were in cahoots, and that TicTacToe is a game devised by The Beast, among lots of stuff you never knew. Good one, GD! I'm glad you caught that! I would have missed it. Of course, I like to try to stay on topic, and I can be (forgive me, mindshift), kind of a grammar snob, sometimes. *blush* I didn't follow the link, to my everlasting chagrin. Still, as First High Priest of Disinformation for the Evil Chimp Emperor, I'm sure you already knew that Alistair Crowley invented TicTacToe!! thisnamecanbetaken i had a freind in middle school who said peace love and smoke a doobie, and that was 1982, this is only the second time i seen something close to the effect |
