chedare says:
Britain's largest greenhouse which will increase by 15% the UK's crop of salad vegetables.
This kind of industrial agriculture is relatively common in the Netherlands and elsewhere but has never been attempted on this scale in the UK. But with British consumers increasingly demanding British salad vegetables, all year round, a consortium of Dutch growers approached Fresca, the UK's largest fresh produce supplier, with a plan to develop a site in Britain.
Having broken the seasonality of salad vegetable production in Britain, McVicars the site's MD,believes that clear regional branding is the way forward, and he hopes the site's produce will be clearly marked with their provenance. The first Thanet Earth products will appear on supermarket shelves from October.

Very cool.

Any mention of the methods? Organic or flooded with chemicals (I hope not)?

I have been researching making my own greenhouse with the main problem being how to heat it. Michigan's utility rates have gone up nearly 75% in less than 4 years, so a space heater is out of the question.

@gemfemfox ,,y hey hi each time I took too long describing to you an Aquaponics backyard set up.

I will post "Backyard aquaponics" some time when I catch up with chores in meantime you can do a search & I,m sure you can source organic fish pellets floating type will give you idea of not to o...

omg chedare, I wish you would get away from there. You do sound sexy though ..... But that's not what matters, what matters is that you get a long way away from the danger. Really, don't take chances.
