The one thing that I have been thinking about for the past few days after reading the article (well, parts of it anyway) and going to the web site (thanks for the interesting clip!) is that this is a typical case the North American confusion between race and class.

The site (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/) really is, from what I can tell, mostly about the educated/urbane/protected class with some truly race based issues scattered here and there. This confusion of race issues with class issues is typical for Americans (and Canadians too) because of our general phobia of class and class issues.
