Burma has been in the military's hands since the 1960's. It is perhaps, testimony of the courage of its people, that there is anything left of free will there. Can we stand by and let this happen - another voice for freedom silenced because the world did nothing?

Yes I saw that -thanks. They will let her out, it seems when their next election is over. I went to college - many moons ago - with a guy who had as one uncle U Thant - then-UN Secretary General and the other General Ne Win. So I learned first hand how strange their politics can be. As far as I know, he was never allowed to go home - although he may have gone back to oppose his Uncle Win - that's why he had to leave to begin with.

The people just deserve a beter life and I hope they can get it in the not too distant future.
