zasel says: So far these early debates have been pretty tame as far as the kinds of questions that are being asked. The candidates themselves have been primarily making stump speeches and sound bytes, but not explaining their innermost beliefs. I don't know if You Tube will make much of a difference, especially considering the fact that with so many candidates vying for time on microphone, they really cannot say much. Hopefully, as the candidates begin to narrow-down, the questions and answers will become more meaningful. The use of invited questions doesn't really do anything but create the illusion that they are from the people, not the power brokers. The answers will be important because you can form opinions based on more than a reporters word. "Looking for rehearsed answers" will probably be the best sport available. Guess who saw the questions before you did. Should any of them be shown the questions beforehand? If not, will someone be available to interpret for those like Bush. |
