balthazarus says: I find it most disturbing. On the verge of development that will prolong life with less illnesses, and will increase the degrees of freedom and responsibility a so called 'prolife' religious mass is trying to take us back. Just realized why the catholic church decided "limbo" didn't exist anymore, or maybe they changed it to be just for rich parishioners who wanted their pet to go there. They could hardly be seen as condemning young children to an eternity in limbo; and take their stand against birth control to enable the spread of HIVAids and any other nasties going around. All religious extremists are against progress. i can think of a billion other things that are a lot worse than religion, go spew your child issues to a therapist. From the same people that thought the earth was flat and that the universe revolved around the earth... So dstruve you admit religion is bad, but you still can tell the difference between fact and opinion, was this a breakthrough? keep attending those sessions, you are making progress. It really annoys me when people lump all religions and religious people in one group. Stem cell research is alive and well - and even embryonic research is underway. The Vatican opposes creating embryos strictly for research or testing embryos prior to implantation for defects. Believing in 'God's will' does not make one an idiot. Or uninformed. Or backward. Expressing a belief does not require your acceptance or approval. Having rules and taking a stand only seems to be a problem for people when it comes from a religious source. If you don't agree with them, then ignore them. Expressing a belief does not require your acceptance or approval.Unfortunately, many, many people who are brimful of religiosity act as if it is required. |
