Exactly who is offended by blasphemy in Ireland that has not had due recourse - the vast majority of the worlds religions preach tolerance - I note that the Labour Party suggest a maximum fine of €1,000 and exclusions for works of literature etc - these matters are very difficult to define and can open up up a wasps nest like the successive 'abortion' referendums - to some suggesting 'abortion' would be blasphemous, to others the use of a condom is an outrage even if it prevent AIDS and the preventable slow death of millions of the worlds poor. This law is stupid - nobody not even religous leaders want it. It must be oposed and struck down by the President of Ireland if the Oireachteas is too diverted by economic matters to condemn it.
