　日本の近代俳句を確立した正岡子規（１８６７～１９０２）が夏目漱石や高浜虚子のほか自身の俳句を集めて編んだ直筆の選句集「なじみ集」が２日、見つかった。これまで存在は知られていたが現物は確認されておらず、“幻の書”と言われていた。多数の全集未収録の俳句が含まれており、子規研究の上でも貴重な資料だ。

　「なじみ集」は、門下生ら約９０人の俳句を季語ごとに分類したもので６７４ページ。河東碧梧桐や佐藤紅緑、幸田露伴らの句も収められている。毛筆で書かれ、子規の蔵書を示す朱印が押してある。１８９２（明治２５）年～９５年ごろにかけて編まれたものと見られる。

　子規の句では〈寒山拾得（中国・唐の二人の隠者）賛〉と題した〈しにゝ行くためにめしくふこじき哉（かな）〉１句が新出。〈馬士（まご）一人馬にひかるるかれ野哉〉〈かけものの達磨（だるま）にらむや秋のくれ〉は全集に収められた句と部分的に異なる。

　漱石の句では〈目出たさは梦（ゆめ）に遊んで九時に起き〉〈病後糸柳ひねもすぶらりぶらり哉〉など５句が全集未収録。虚子の〈雀（すずめ）子のとびつかれたる茨（いばら）かな〉なども全集に入っていない。

　和田克司・大阪成蹊短大名誉教授は「伝承の中でしか知られていなかった句集で、これだけ大部のものが完全な形で残っていたのは極めて貴重。子規が俳句から漢詩や紀行文などへと文学の世界を広げようとしていた時期に編まれたものだけに、当時の生き方を知る上で大きな手がかりとなる。〈なじみ〉の顔ぶれが誰なのか、子規と周辺の人との親しさの度合いも明らかになる」と語る。（小山内伸）
