I agree with the ORIGINAL source. The person is predisposed to addiction, and the addiction is not the illness itself.

I'm very, very obsessive, and I know that if I had no internet, it would be something else.

Instead of using self-control and common sense people are using addiction as an excuse for a lot of behaviors. Yes there are real addictions but some are because people just don't want to change.

Wikipedia says, "Addiction (in past days) was a term used to describe a devotion, attachment, dedication, inclination, etc. Ad (to) diction (talk, express, proclaim). In a religious sense one used to addict to God, become a follower of great good. So not all addiction is a 'bad thing'. Addiction to reading, writing, conversation, sharing ideas, Clipmarks: count me in.
