UK freelance illustrator Garry Parsons collects lots of things which eventually turn into his inspiration, such as illustrated books, images cut from newspapers and magazines, Japanese cartoon characters, toys, food packets, sweet wrappers, carrier bags and the list goes on… Parsons studied Fine Art in Canterbury and went back to college in 1996 to study for a Masters in Design/Illustration. The first picture book Garry illustrated was nominated for the Red House Children’s Book Awards 2004 and for the Stockport Children’s book awards. His editorial work appears regularly in newspapers and magazines in Britain and the USA. Recent clients have included; Proctor & Gamble, Golf Digest USA, Saatchi & Saatchi, The Times, Marie Claire, RCN Publishing, The Guardian and The Independent. |
