I like to look at it this way Tany. Jesus spoke out about hypocrisy all the time and the fact that the tree was full of leaves but bore no figs spoke to those who show outward signs but have no fruit and are deceiving themselves. It's a good thing to reflect upon and it shows Jesus to be quite the radical political person of his day.
