This is not the first time ACORN has been investigated. The Consumers Rights League, a non-partisan organization, did an extensive in-depth investigation into ACORN Housing and their mortgage practices in 2008 which they . . .

. . . submitted to Congress recommending at the very least that Congress investigate ACORN Housing’s mortgage practices. To date there has been no investigation into ACORN Housing. The CRL also published a report regarding millions of dollars of ACORN fraud. ACORN has repeatedly been implicated in scandals involving public funds and political activities: Misuse of taxpayer funds, voter registration fraud and money laundering.
