I think I saw she attempted to bring a large banner into the House chamber. She had been invited by a Democrat congress-critter from the "great" state of California. Silence those who speak out. Next bring in the black cars late at night and make them disappear - just like Stalin did. If you paint a big enough rosey picture it will hide all the bad happening in the world. Oh please....Her whole purpose was to interrupt the State of the Union Speech and focus the attention on herself and her 'cause'. As citizens, we are free to speak out where ever and anywhere. However, this person wanted and intended to create a scene and try to embarrass the President of the United States and grab the spotlight for herself. I dislike the interruptions and banter carried on in the Parliment of England and yet, I see it more and more here. Each should have his say without being rude or disrupting the free expression of the other. It's called a civil society. Props to rmowery for the drama though. Tip for next time: context. GD - it was intended to be dramatic and a snide reply to the Media Coverage this had gotten. They made it seem like she was hauled away by the Gustpo or Stalins henchman or something. Thus my satire. There is a place and time for her or anyones protesting - but that was neither the place nor the time. BTW -- I have to practice the Drama if I am goingto write a good movie script for that India TV contest I love this! Someone better at cryptosarcasm than me. I'm cracking up here. Kudos. By the way, there was no banner. She had simply revealed her t-shirt which had a protest written on it. That, apparently, is against the law. It is rather ironic that in the "house of democracy" that a t-shirt can get you busted. an ex career air force wife who got her US citizenship just a few yrs ago told me "America is going down" she claims to be a socialist an ex cop told me that she goes on regular wednesday night "missions" as a terrorist ! she claimed she is a "terrorist" !!! with attitudes like either of those above floating around - who can help but wonder to whom to turn to feel again secure & safe ?!?!?!?!?!? Jatfla: "As citizens, we are free to speak out where ever and anywhere." I invite you to come to my house and try that. You are NOT free to speak out where ever and anywhere. Sorry. You are, however, free to say what you want without the *government* restricting you (unless, of course, you want to say God Bless America as part of your valedictorian speech in a public high school. Then that part of the First Amendment is conventiently forgotten. Well said, Kregger. |
