egoldstein says: it's great to see enormous companies such as Wal-Mart and General Electric embracing renewable energy...very exciting development! A wonderful thing to have happen, no doubt, but trust my jaundiced eye, no altruistic values at play, simply good business. BartendingBear is right on here. The Sam Walton family enterprises is not known for it's altruistic motives. If it profits the bottom line (and looks good in print) they are there! But kudos to them for going green. More money for them and less pollution for us. Win - win? Shouldn't the point be that it IS good business to go green? Wouldn't trust Wal-mart farther than I can throw them, but they've helped to lean up a TON of waste in the world of mass production. Hope this begins to wave across the rest of the industry. |
