papananook says: There was also a lack of coverage in the MSM--no surprise there! The beauty of the democratic systems of thought control, as contrasted with their clumsy totalitarian counterparts, is that they operate by subtly establishing on a voluntary basis - aided by the force of nationalism and media control by substantial interests - presuppositions that set the limits of debate, rather than by imposing beliefs with a bludgeon. Noam Chomsky I think the lack of coverage had more to do with covering the behinds of the prominent democrats who said they backed impeachment and then backed off when republicans started voting for it in order to force a debate on the issue. The big winners here are Cheney, the GOP in congress, and Kucinich. The dems were forced to vote in support of Cheney, the GOP embarrassed the house democrat leadership, and Kucinich stood by his principles. The big losers were the democrat leadership and those democrats who were forced to flip flop on their principles and vote against impeachment even though they claimed to support it. my god .... is reportage a word....or ? |
