The REAL Napster
Obama's party needs all the votes they can get, of course they will 'apologize'.

I think that both parties would be too busy pandering to the faith based and too afraid of losing religious votes to issue any apologies to non-believers.

Sounds like something that should be a part of the party platform.

We need to get over the idea that non-Abrahamic is "non-believer." I'm a believer, I just don't use their definition. However, as a "Pagans for Obama" group member, I can tell you that there are a number of delegates at the DNC who are pagan, and the group is active on his web site.

I'm a believer but I don't follow any form of organized belief system. What does that make me?

It makes you a believer that doesn't follow an organized structure.

WT - I found a link for "http://www.pagansforobama.com/", but it doesn't seem to be active. Do you have anything more current?

That's very true wiccan, I agree, but some people would differ on that. I remember years ago my dad was in the hospital (run by nuns), they asked what religion he was and he said protestant. He just about threw a fit when he saw what they put on his chart, they put under religion, 'atheist'. My sister is the same way because I don't go to church. How I practice or not shouldn't matter.

Tanyamm, when I was in Catholic grade school, I was told that I was not a Christian, I was a CATHOLIC, and that everyone who wasn't would go to hell. Of course, a lot of Protestants consider Catholics to be as bad as Pagans - they confuse praying to saints for worship.

A few years ago, I was in a Catholic-run hospital for the first in a series of surgeries, and a nun with the chaplain's office came to visit because their records had me down as Catholic (this from when I was about twelve years old). I told her I was no longer Catholic, but Pagan, and she said, "Oh, really?" and sat down for the first of several talks about Paganism and she even asked my advice on how best to minister to us...

JorJor, it's not a web site unto itself. It's part of Obama's site. Here's the link:

Having originally used the "non-believer" term let me apologize if I caused offense. That was not my intent. It was a poorly chosen phrase. Non-Abrahamic describes exactly what I meant to say. It certainly seems that non-Abrahamic beliefs get scant attention or pandering from politicians.
I assure you that I meant in no way to imply that pagans, wiccans, buddhists or any other indiviuals or groups of believers of a spiritual or religious nature are non believers. And there are some true non believers as well.

It didn't cause offense (though thank you for taking that into consideration). I just want to help change the perception.
