XP Pro can be upgraded to Home Premium. It just requires a *clean install* (wiping your hard drive), as opposed to an *in-place install* (installing right on top of the XP install already on your drive). The misconception is that "clean install" means you can't upgrade to Premium and that you can only upgrade to Business or Ultimate. Nope.
