masbury says: Former chair of Senate Intel Committee says it's nothing new if Congress leaders were mis-informed Good Grief, the CIA ran an illegal war in the 1980's in Central America in violation of the Boland Amendment. OH NO! The CIA would never lie to us, never, ever, ever, ever. Former Senator Bob Graham stated that the CIA has him down for dates of briefings that do not match his records. This is far from an isolated case. Utter, total nonsense to believe that the CIA is the paragon of honesty. We may not be perfect but we'll "change things for you" if you make people aware of it. Yes, BobbyRutan points out a big example of the CIA not only misleading Congress but directly violating a law intended to restrain them. Another recent case where the own head CIA inspector for wrongdoing declared they were misleading Congress is (or should be) known to all Congresspeople and reporters. The exposure of this crime, a private mercenary "security contractor" hired by the CIA shot down a plane carrying a family of Christian missionaries over Peru. See: http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/05/lawmaker_cia_already_being_probed_for_misleading_c.php?ref=fpa The exposure of this took seven years and now, eight years later there hasn't been any action about it. A Republic... The very basis of the CIA is lies; so why is anyone the least bit surprised to hear that they're lying. They're trying to cover their asses. We'll be waiting for a cold day in hell before the right-wing talking heads will retract what they said about Pelosi, though. They believe in the premise that a lie repeated enough times, by enough people, somehow, mystically, becomes reality. Agree. Although the Republicans have misjudged how much people believe this, as their landslide defeats in the two last election show. Apparently, though, most of the mainstream media thinks it is news. On some news shows there is strong push-back against these lies. So it's a question of what news do you want to listen to and what do you believe and...of course, we've all learned not to buy everything being sold on TV. There is also a nice life, for most of us, away from this bombardment of lies. It takes someone extremely good at lying and deceit to make me even consider doubting them if they claim to have been lied to or mislead by the CIA. Pelosi qualifies. The very basis of the CIA is lies; so why is anyone the least bit surprised to hear that they're lying.df, you're hot today - lots of good comments! This one is excellent. It's laughable to think of the CIA acting morally. It's an organization designed to pursue illegal activity: spying. |
