egoldstein says: Ok, so maybe this is obvious...but it struck me as interesting. Prompted 2 thoughts...(1) Would sure be different if it were otherwise and (2) just like animals don't know they can't conceive of time or the future, i wonder what we don't know of that we're not able to conceive. Why do animals store food? Why do bees anoint a queen? Different names are used to describe these actions, often depending on ones perception of the place of humans in the mix. (That's changed that topic) ..........................next I think there are many examples in the animal kingdom to refute this. Whether or not we are the only ones, I don't know - but I find it very odd that we live our whole lives in time and never get familiar with it. "Where did the day go?" "Five o'clock already?" Some may ridicule this, but I find in it a hint that we were created for another world - a timeless one - and are not fully at home here. OK, I'll roll up the windows now - throw whatever you like. What is time? Time as we know it was created from man's desire to control. All we know is all we know. Gives one thought... animals are known to be able to predict disasters such as floods, but I think how they perceive and what their intentions are, makes the difference. |
