This is not a Republican painting. This is not anything other than one artist's personal feelings about his love for Christ, this country and a desire to make a point about where we are headed.

Our government has grown so big and powerful that the rights of the individual are at risk.

This is what the Constitution was about—to limit the size of government.

The patriotic heroes who stand behind Christ and the Constitution are pleading with us to defend the cause of liberty.

Many of these people symbolize those who have pushed our country towards Socialism.

The author states: “I hoped that this painting would encourage dialogue and debate”.

What a wonderful painting. He said this about where the idea for the painting came to him:

"I saw the painting in its entirety for about ten seconds before it was gone. I immediately began sketching and laying out the painting as best I could. Never has a painting come to me as powerfully as this. Even the title “One Nation Under God” came clearly to my mind. You could call it an epiphany, a daydream, or even a vision, but I feel grateful to be able to have the opportunity to paint it and share what I feel many Americans would like to say about the state of our country."

If you think that Jesus would take a look at the US as it is today, and approve, then you've got another think coming.

First and foremost; Jesus was a communist, and famously struck a blow against capitalism.

He never endorsed warfare in any form whatsoever; especially not imperialism. A massive military of the type America has is definitely not something Jesus would have approved of.

Nor would he approve of the Tyranny of the Majority trying to strip away the human rights of minorities. He embraced the "little guy" and chastized the corporate world.

"One Nation, Under the god, Dollar" would be a more accurate assessment of America. That painting is pure pap and propaganda.

Darkforce, you missed the point of the painting. Please read the artist comments concerning the purpose of his painting before you criticize.

You comments about Jesus are pure conjecture. Jesus was never involved in politics. He said "Give unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's".
He was not even close to being a communist. He had his own money bag and paid His own way without help from the state.
He never said anything about warfare except spiritual warfare. He said nothing about human rights and tyrants even while the Jews were occupied by the vicious Romans.
This clearly defines the problem with liberal thinking. They do not debate on facts, but whatever strikes them what is right in their own mind.

Communism has nothing to do with politics, and Jesus was a communist. He pushed the ideals of everyone taking care of each other. That is what communism is all about. He said a lot about human rights in telling people that we shouldn't judge each other and that we should treat each other in the manner that we, ourself, would want to be treated.

You've missed the most essential meanings of Christianity. I hope you don't consider yourself a Christian, because you've got it exceedingly wrong. What you're saying is a typical conservative twisting of Christianity to try to make it support allowing them to own huge houses, hire illegal immigrants for starvation wages and try to push their own be...

Communism

1. A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.

Communism

1. A philosophy whereby everyone shares equally the available resources, considering the wellbeing of others as being equivalent to one's own.

This isn't the Social Fascism that's been falsely labelled "Communism"; this is the real communism; the philosophy that existed long before Marx and Lenin. It is synonymous with living as a community.

Define "rational world". What are you basing your morality on? Opinion?

Rational World is where people think using the brains God gave us, rather than letting other people dictate their opinions and beliefs to them. My morality is my morality, and is no one else's concern. Let's just say it's part of my life philosophy, which is based on the teachings of Christ.

Now what are you basing your morality on? The religious ravings of someone standing in front of a crowd of people for self-gratification purposes? Someone who screams hatred and intolerance over the airwaves? Or maybe someone who cries crocodile tears about his country as he does everything in his power to destroy said country? Or maybe just an unenlightened adsorption of every last thing written in a 2...

Darkforce, if your morality is based on the teachings of Christ, we have two different "Christs" and two entirely different Bibles.

Your last comment,( Jay, I doubt you've ever given anything a rational, critical thought even once in your lifetime.) is so very "UnChrist like". You might want to read about hypocrisy in the Bible if that is actually your guide. Your name suits you so well. You are a very critical, unkind person that exudes hate, at least that is the way you come across.

Yes, my Christ teaches love and tolerance, not hatred and intolerance. And my bible is the testament of Christ. The rest is just historical and mythological studies.

It's not unChristlike to be honest with a person. Never heard of Harsh Love? I know about hypocrisy; I see it in every single organized religion and in all of the Religious Right. They speak with forked tongue, spreading the Testament of Satan. So the question is, are you going to keep following the teachings of Satan, or switch and follow the teachings of Christ?
