Medicare and Social Security are in terrible shape. Unfortunately, private-sector health and pension plans are doing even worse. So as the days of fiscal reckoning for Medicare and Social Security draw nearer, more people—not fewer—will be looking to the government for health and income insurance. That may turn out to be the real entitlement crisis.
