Newsmax confirms:
"This nomination is dead and we have known it for several days," a source close to the U.S. mission to the U.N. tells NewsMax.

"We just don't know what the White House wants to do next," the source added.

Republican Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio blasted Bolton's described him as "the poster child of what someone in the diplomatic corps should not be."
With these recent high-level concessions, could Bush be trying to fend off impeachment hearings from a newly Democrat-controlled Congress? Is this the end of the shakeup or will there be more changes to come?

I'm no fan of Bolton. Does he know about thing about being an ambassador or about the UN ?

Bolton knows as much about being UN ambassador as G.W. Bush does about being a President. Who could have conceived of a dolt from Texas, an ineffectual governor of that state as well as failed businessman in several ventures, all of a sudden becoming the President? Where did he get qualified all of a sudden?

Bolton was been imposed on the UN by a President who felt he had the right to do anything he could get away with. He no longer can control the legislature. The country has sent an unequivacle message to him. Now we have the opportunity of getting a UN Representative who is more representative of our countries beliefs and style.

Bolton shares his bosses' scorn for the UN, its underlying mission, and the people who run it. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.
