Have you tried Stevia, it's an all natural sweetener.
stevia
is a healthier alternative to other sweeteners, as it contains no
calories and a zero glycemic index. An ideal choice for diabetics, stevia is becoming increasingly recommended for those suffering from diabetes.

Here is a list of alternative sweeteners for diabetics.

1. Stevia, a naturally sweet herb that is commonly found in health food stores in powder or liquid forms
2. Agave, cactus nectar that resembles maple syrup, also found in most health food stores
3. Xylitol, a naturally occurring sweetener found in the fibers of many fruits and vegetables that looks like typical white sugar
4. Organic raw honey, which is readily found in most stores.

This list is referencing an recent article, Controlling Type 2 Diabetes Through Diet and Exercise

There is nasty info around on that stuff. Unverified completely... but, aspertame I think was originally looked at as a mind control agent. Does unwanted actions with neurotransmitters, I seem to recall,.....
Creepily interesting to say the least.
