let go of the dogma

Once said by an 80 year old man
" I wish I knew half as much now, as I thought I knew when I was 20 "
It's human to want to be right, or at least not wrong, even it means describing details that are critical, as insignificant. Then when the details we've ignored perfectly bite us, we wonder what happened.
There's a lot to be said for retrospect.
First there is the recognition of a misconception, then there is learning why misconception was maintained.. Sometimes by design, sometimes it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
Ignorance is no excuse when involving the laws of nature.
Maybe to clarify things, any unproven theories, should also be described as a guesses.
