I have been to this Zoo. I hate zoos, most aquariums and aviaries, and the idea of this poor creature facing years of loneliness in a tiny tank performing "tricks for fish" makes my guts stir.
I believe this whale and it's late buddy, were captured in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, and hauled by truck to Tacoma. If you've ever been to Tacoma you know what a dump it is. I don't know why anyone would want to live there; filthy God forsaken place it is. That tank is not as big as an Olympic sized pool.

By the way, if you look up that Zoo, no place on that whole site mentions this or any other sea mammal on it's itinerary. They are ashamed of the small accommodations I surmise.
