Aribeth says:
"When you write, use the most precise word for your meaning, not the word that comes to mind first. Consult this thesaurus to find alternatives for some commonly overused words. Consult a full-length thesaurus to find alternatives to words that do not appear here. Keep in mind that the choices offered in a thesaurus do not all mean exactly the same thing. Review all the options, and choose the one that best expresses your meaning."

I absolutely am certain that I'm guilty of this overuse! Awesome clip Aribeth, and keep posting these great clips! (how was that for overuse?)

I'm doing this a lot; looking words up in the english dictionary, or searching back and forth in the german-english dictionary. Altough in a different context: english is not my native language, and I want to make sure that I'm using the right/correct word.
Because of this habit, it takes me much longer to write something than it should.
I wanted to mention that. Once you start looking for the "most precise word", it may become a time-consuming habit.

Indeed, what you are vocalising about at this moment in time is, I mean, well basically, at the end of the day . . .

I hate the word "utilize". There's never a time when it can't be replaced by "use". One of the best statements on clarity is here.

Writing clearly and cleanly doesn't have to mean writing stupidly.

"interesting" clip.
(I realized I'm overusing 'interesting' and remembered this clip)
