I'd guess that she knows that the 'free and fair' US media takes its directions from even higher that Bush!

That would be the same media that were instructed to go with Obama, for now.

She probably believes that she dislikes this 'free and fair' median more than she might belatedly want to be a Senator. Also she knows the the US branch of the Irish Kennedys have shed enough good blood and it may not be worth it. Having to be vetted by AIPAC to receive campaign funds would stick in her craw.
