These holidays should be treated the same as Xtian holidays with respect to time off, whatever that policy is. The snide tone of this article was unnecessary, however; obviously if you worship an earth centered religion, you aren't a real believer. Not only is it snide, it's uninformed. Tree worship is not characteristic of Wicca; that's Druidism. I guess we'll have to get rid of those other outlandish holidays that can fall on a weekday, like Christmas and the Queen's birthday. Also, asking "where are the real men?" when you talking about a bunch of Odinists or Asatruists, is ridiculous! A religion that believes in "pride, honor, strength and warrior skills" is hardly filled with "tree worshippers." The woman obviously doesn't know what she's talking about. There is something uniquely worrying about the boys in blue going Awol on a mission of spiritual discovery. I cannot be the only one who does not feel safe in the knowledge that my local coppers are "balancing operational needs" with chanting and meditation. How about eating the body of a dead god in form of a cracker? |
