Wonderful. Wow, what a documentary of what life was like and what people looked like 100 years ago in Russia in color! Click on the link on Derrin Brown site to see commentary and pictures about the photographer's life and how he took the pictures right before and during the Russian Revolution. Amazing. That's awesome! How come these aren't more well known?! or rather, if they are, where the hell have I been? Very interesting! I knew, that the color negative film technic was introduced in the early 1900 years, but the technical problems, to make positive paper pictures out of them were solved much later. It seems, that those pictures are made from their negatives in new times ?? It's not explained there. But if I look at my early paper photos, I find the red color totally vanished and the blue mostly too. Only the hand coloured pictures (retouche, hand made on b/w pict. ) kept their red. Very good clip. Interesting. Thanks. The colour is so good. |
