I knew the aglet from crossword puzzles, the US government loves bollards to keep people off their grass and anyone who does word processing on a computer should know the dingbat font--kerf if one does woodworking--the amount of wood that disappears as the saw cuts. The rest I didn't know--

How about newel cap - it's the top piece of the railing at the bottom of a staircase (usually a round ball or other decorative piece). That's another funny one!
