Kore7 says: You know it had to happen sooner or later! Visit http://www.frappr.com/clipmarks and represent your city on the worldwide Clipmarks map. It's fun! Cool!. Did you add this there Kore? I thought about it before, but figured Clipmarks team would do it. Def. cool! Yeah...didn't even stop to think if the CM crew are cool with it. Let's hope so. Cant find Shenzhen-a chinese city there. ZG: did you try clicking the "Not in the US?" link below "Zipcode" in "My Location"? It should know about your city. I did that, and it said that's a invalid city... ZG: sorry to hear that. Do you have Javascript enabled? When I tried it myself, it autocompleted "Shenzhen, Guangdong (China)" after typing just a few letters. That's cool, kore, added now.THX nice, added myself, Belgium represented. Oh yes it's quite nice. Added myself. Maybe similar features could be added directly to clipmarks ? (I can see egoldstein turning white on the work load now What's neither guys gals? do some clip their pets? totally cool with it Kore7...i'm in!! Guillaume, i turned white on the work load a long time ago 'we are sorry but we don't have maps at this zoom level for this region...' I knew I live in a polluted jungle Wow, I just learned that Kore7 is in Denver. We should have a clipmarks meeting or something. And clipette, I used to live in Long Island City! What's neither guys gals? do some clip their pets?I don't know. Just leaving it open for any circumstances. Pets, robots, aliens, Michael Jackson, etc. Wow, I just learned that Kore7 is in Denver. We should have a clipmarks meeting or something.Indeed. very cool... i'm in. we need to fill in that map...where are you clippers? And clipette, I used to live in Long Island City!kmcolo -- when did you live in LIC? Where? I added to this. Anyway this could be mashed into the clipmarks profile as an option? That way when someone click the profile there coudl be a link to the FRAPPR map and allow them to add themselves to that as well. Just a thought. That would be cool. Do you know how we could hook that up? kmcolo -- when did you live in LIC? Where?I lived there 1964 to 1970. Astoria Houses. I went to PS 171 for kindergarten and 1st grade. rmowery, i love that idea. Frappr...one of the first "mashup" / "Web 2.0" websites ever, huh? What's their deal? They have a huge user base. Is anyone talking about buying them yet? They offer both a Javascript link and a Flash app to embed minimaps for interested developers, bloggers: link. Does that link work for people besides me? works for me. i'm excited to play around with this and come up with a cool way(s) to integrate it into the clipmarks site. Ok, Now Skwirlinator Is On It So for the new clippers out there... Show us where you are! I added myself. I'm the first Canadian to be added. thanks bunnicula! hopefully the first of many. I just found out I'm a rare kind at this moment. klaassart said:Haha! You know, I only just now saw how right you are! Clipmarks is not just international, it's interspecial! Welcome. Very cool... we have quite the cluster in and around NY I see. Houston, Texas in the house! I see there's someone else here from the area (League City). 2 Texas clippers! 2 Texas clippers!Well as long as you're not Dallas Cowboy fans I think we'll get along just fine. To all new users...see Clipmarks progress towards world domination here...and don't hesitate to sign up for the cause while you're there! (Don't worry...we'll be a benevolent sort of dictatorship...) That was interesting...let's try this link one more time...ahh, that's better. We must develop a South American fortress -- where's Corporal Brazilnut? wow. great! We must develop a South American fortress -- where's Corporal Brazilnut?brazilnut present and accounted for...and feeling somewhat lonely down here. Aight, I did my part, consider Arkansas represented. folks...there is a chat thing on the frapper page as well...it would be great to catch u all there sometime.... I tried to do it, but every time I tried to enter my non-US city, it took me to a 'create your own group' page. I just realized there was a chat thingy on there Deepti! It's actually a nice lil feature too. I just wish you could turn the dang sound off on it! It nearly drove me nuts last night. Seriously. Fortunately Jason got Deepti and me on a conference on yahoo before I went over the edge. I will be looking to intergrate some of that into my site. I'll look into the code to see if there is a way to disable sound from my end. Good job, Wolf. I'm a firm believer in being able to turn all electronic beeps and bloops off on the machine I use everyday so that I can listen to my music interruption-free. Chat isn't so important that I need to hear a sound every time I send or receive a message (especially sending....don't you KNOW you're sending a message?). I did manage to get the Frappr chat embedded in my website last night. Actually it was pretty damn easy. Once I have this up, anyone can converse from my site with people on the Frappr site. My p;an is to have the chat in a small window seperate from the main browser so you can have Clipmarks and the chat going at the same time. During the course I did discover there is a lil icon that turns off the sound. Yeah, tried that before I mentioned it on here. Seriously, I'm a bright kid, it just doesn't turn the sound off for me for some reason. I was miffed to say the least. fascinating mashup! Just added myself. Welcome, Roni! But honestly I see no other use to frapper, I thought at the beginning I missed something, but there is none. other nice community maps are out there, but most of them are still searching for direction. I had some email communication with the frappr guys about some features I would really like to see... They answered really quick and have an open ear (just like the CM Crew). To be more useful the chat has to get a private mode, but not only like the new private mode they launched two weeks ago, because this option makes the chatwindow applet invisible if you are not logged in to frappr. The chat must be visible to everybody but you must be logged in to chat. There must be a better session management. It would be great if it wouldnt matter where the window appears, as long as it's the same channel you would stay logged in. My second idea wasnt that essential, but I thought, that it could ... Hmmm.. I have a frappr chat window embedded on one of my pages and would like to see a feature of being able to log in from there. Right now you end up as "Guest." Yeah. Thats what I mean with "better Session Management". Ahhh... let me know if you hear anything back from them about this. okay, no problem BBW! We are waiting for new Frappr Chatfeatures anyway. We wanna kick our IRC Chat for this solution, but we will wait till Moderation and Administration is better... The Clipmarks group map is really only a part of the frappr group feature. Whenever, a group map is started it is automatically given an independent forum, picture sharing and a unique chat box. our individual chat boxes are shared until you make a designated map (or New Group) Once there is a unique chat box...like the "clipmarks chat room" then it can be accessed from anywhere you put that widget code. Yes, you can embed the "clipmarks"chat boxes into your clipmarks related pages. If the name on the chat box shows up with your name or ID you have embedded your personal chat room. If all interested in "Clipmarks group chatting" at a location they frequent then it is more a chance that yo... I just use AIM, MSN, and Yahoo on Trillian Basic to chat. If someone doesn't have those they can either email me or use the freakin' USPS. Kansas City/theDaryl now on the map Welcome, I've found that the application features are rather easy to install in other sites, even if you have to write your own code. I have a feeling that more php and world press applications will be written for the frappr applications, based on what I have recently been keyed into. There maps are faster to load than some other applications I have tried to use. Its a revival! I have it running in another tab right now and there are barely any in canada or mexico. North American clippers, report to duty! And who's in charge of heading up the Antarctica contingent? Any volunteers want to move to help Clipmarks' continental domination? (Like a lot of old-school revival clips, it's too bad the original clipped images don't work anymore. But the source link is active and of course the commentary is priceless.) pseudo- second pop Well, thanks for 'poppin'. Added. Can't believe I haven't seen this before! Nice to see we have our own map. Just stumbled upon this old clip and added myself. Cool! Hey! Always good to add another clipper to the good old CM map! =D Hey Jason, No more clips from you? (I.e. this old timer misses you around these parts). Ken |
